3-phase busbars as a flexible basis for spots and floodlights

Connecting all bathroom lights properly to the power grid without ending up with an unsightly tangle of cables hanging from the ceiling: to meet this challenge, we used variable 3-phase busbars as the basis for our spots and floodlights.

Mix of functional and aesthetically high-quality bathroom lighting

Unfortunately, great aesthetics in a showroom are of no use if customers cannot properly recognize the displayed products. Too bright or poorly positioned bathroom lighting, on the other hand, destroys the feel-good atmosphere that is meant to be created in the showroom. Therefore, it was our task to achieve a perfect blend of functionality and aesthetic design with the bathroom lighting.

Realizing a flexible lighting scenario for changing bathroom scenes

Another challenge was the necessary flexibility of the lighting. A showroom is constantly changing: products are renewed, sample bathrooms are rearranged or completely redecorated. To avoid having to install new bathroom lights, spots, and floodlights with every small change to the displayed rooms, it was important to make the bathroom lighting as adaptable as possible.

An important technical aspect for bathroom planners are IP protection classes. The IP system indicates how well lights and other electrical equipment are suited for different environments and thus provides an important reference point for implementing lighting concepts. In bathroom design, IP protection classes are particularly relevant as they also indicate the water resistance of lights. The following IP protection classes should be used in the respective areas in the bathroom:

IP44: Lights within 0.6 m around the bathtub, shower, or sink should have at least IP44 protection against splashing water from all sides.

With protection class IP54, lights are also protected against dust.

IP65: Protection class IP65 is ideal up to a height of 2.25 m around the shower/bathtub. With this IP protection class, lights are optimally protected against water jets from any angles and are dust-tight.

IP67: To remain waterproof when temporarily submerged, bathroom lights in the direct shower or bathtub area must have IP67 protection class.

In addition, the SIGHT TRACK 3Ph luminaire is installed at strategically favorable points on the tracks to create uniform basic lighting. Since the individual circuits of the 3-phase track can be switched individually, the different groups of luminaires can also be controlled separately. Good for the bathroom planners at Schurr, because this way the bathroom lights are perfectly set up for the implementation of various lighting scenarios.

So that the high-quality washbasins along with their surroundings benefit from the ideal lighting counterpart in the showroom, the spherical LIGHT EYE pendant lights made of steel and fabric-covered cables are used. In terms of bathroom lighting, they create exactly the feel-good atmosphere needed in modern wellness oases for relaxation. The direct light output can be repositioned and refocused on the track. Their height can also be adjusted with the shortened cables.
